At Sigma Embedded Engineering, we are currently looking for a Data Platform Engineer to join a team building a new data platform from scratch. The platform will integrate data from several departments and systems, replacing an outdated solution with a modern platform designed for analytics and future development.

The work focuses on building data pipelines, contributing to the overall platform structure, and helping define how data should be handled, stored, and made accessible for analysis and internal services.

A good understanding of data architecture and APIs is important, since the platform needs to integrate data from multiple systems and sources. You will help ensure that data can be efficiently processed and exposed through APIs and platform services.

Since the organization is also evaluating different cloud options, including Azure and AWS, a general understanding of cloud platforms and data platform environments is beneficial.

Your role:

You will work as part of a team building a modern data platform that supports analytics, reporting, and internal data services. The role includes developing pipelines, contributing to platform structure, and supporting the availability of reliable data across the organization.

What you’ll do

Build and maintain data pipelines
Work with ETL and ELT processes
Integrate data from multiple internal systems and sources
Support the structure and development of a modern data platform
Help ensure data can be accessed through APIs and platform services
Work with lakehouse-based data environments
Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across teams
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and development workflows
Support data modeling and data preparation for analytics and reporting

We are looking for someone who has

• Experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar role

• Around 2–3 years of experience working with data platforms or data pipelines

• Experience working with ETL or ELT pipelines

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS

• Good knowledge of SQL and Python

• Understanding of APIs and data integrations

• Basic understanding of data modeling concepts

• Experience working in modern development environments with CI/CD

• Fluent in English

• PySpark / Apache Spark

• Azure Data Factory (ADF)

• Delta Lake / Lakehouse architectures

• Azure cloud services

• CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or Git

• Power BI (data modeling and dataset preparation)
